Reese Witherspoon Looks Exactly Like Her Daughter In Teenage Throwback

Genes are powerful.

On Thursday, Reese Witherspoon shared a snap of herself back at 15 -- the age you were still learning how to properly use a blowdryer -- as a budding star at her first film festival. Notably, she looks eerily similar to her teenage daughter, Ava Phillippe.

Voila:

If our math checks out, Witherspoon attended the festival for her first film, "The Man in the Moon," which with hindsight clearly launched a stratospheric film career.

Back in 1991, hints of future megastardom lay in the film's New York Times review:

"Mr. Mulligan also gets an outstandingly natural performance out of Miss Witherspoon, who has no trouble carrying a lot of the film single-handedly," Janet Maslin wrote. "It falls to her to remind the audience that this story is at heart about a family, and she does."
