Tina Fey Defends Jimmy Fallon After Controversial Trump Interview

Last month, Jimmy Fallon had Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump on “The Tonight Show” for an interview that was jovial and light. So jovial and light, in fact, that Fallon faced loud criticism in the days following for providing Trump with a stage on which he could come across as fun, rather than dangerous.

Even Fallon's own backup band, The Roots, staged a subtle protest that night, playing Erykah Badu's “20 Feet Tall” as he entered the room. (Example lyrics: “Then you, you built a wall/ A 20-foot wall / So I couldn't see.”)

But Tina Fey feels the criticism Fallon faced was unwarranted. On Saturday at the “Produced By New York” conference, the writer, actor and producer defended her former “Saturday Night Live” colleague's lighthearted interview with Trump, according to Deadline.

“This election is so, so ugly, it's not business as usual,” Fey said. “I really felt for Jimmy when people were so angry. It's not Jimmy who peed in the punchbowl. It's not Jimmy who created this horrible world we're living in.”

The role of a talk show host in the political sphere has remained a matter of personal taste. Some people prefer the David Letterman route, stating the truth on air even if it's uncomfortable for everyone in the room. Others prefer hosts to remain comedians first and foremost, and to live outside political debates.

Which side of that divide Fey falls on, we don't quite know. But it's clear she doesn't think Fallon deserves the flak he faced in September.

Pete Davidson Of 'Saturday Night Live' Says Kid Cudi 'Saved My Life'

Pete Davidson of “Saturday Night Live” revealed the enormous impact Kid Cudi has had on his life in a candid interview with “The Breakfast Club” radio show on Tuesday.

When asked to pick his favorite artist between Drake and Cudi, the comedian chose Cudi for a very important reason.

“Cudi's the best of all,” He saved my life. I would've killed myself if I didn't have Kid Cudi,” Davidson said. “I would've killed myself. Absolutely 100 percent. I truly believe if 'Man on the Moon' didn't come out, I wouldn't be here.”

The “SNL” star has opened up about his “depressive streak” and anxiety in previous interviews. Not all treatment looks the same for people with depression, but experts agree that seeking medical support is the best way to manage and recover from symptoms.

For the 22-year-old, he says it was nice to see someone he looked up to being open about his mental health.

“It's kind of comforting to know your hero goes through the same stuff you do,” Davidson said. “I think that's why a lot of kids my age can relate to Cudi and people love him so much is because he's a very emotional dude.”

Kid Cudi has continued to be open with his fans about his struggles, telling followers earlier this month that he was checking himself into rehab for “depression and suicidal urges.”

“My anxiety and depression have ruled my life for as long as I can remember and I never leave the house because of it,” Cudi wrote in a Facebook statement. “I cant make new friends because of it. I dont trust anyone because of it and Im tired of being held back in my life. I deserve to have peace. I deserve to be happy and smiling.”

Luckily, Davidson said that he's been in touch with the artist and said he's “in really good spirits.” And given that Drake's recent diss of Kid Cudi for seeking treatment was an upsetting low blow, we're siding with The Man on the Moon as our favorite artist, too.

Kim Kardashian Reportedly Resumes Filming On 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians'

Kim Kardashian reportedly began filming Season 13 of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” according to People magazine on Wednesday

The outlet spoke with a rep for E! who said, “Full production has resumed on 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians.'”

A separate source told People that the 36-year-old “just wants to be with her kids and out of public,” but made the choice to began filming on her own.

That news contradicts an earlier report from Entertainment Tonight, which said that Kardashian was present during filming for “KUWTK,” but was not yet participating in the filming herself. E! News has not yet written about the news.

The reality star has stayed relatively out of the public eye since she was held up at gunpoint and robbed of millions of dollars' worth of jewelry on Oct. 3 in Paris. After flying back to New York City to reunite with her husband, Kanye West, and various friends and family, Kardashian stayed hidden for weeks, until recently.

She reemerged Monday night grabbing ice cream with pal Jonathan Cheban and again Tuesday night at West's concert, where cameras were spotted filming.

The Huffington Post has reached out to reps for Kardashian and E! News and will update this post accordingly.

'Luke Cage' And 'Jessica Jones' Twitter Accounts Had The Best Responses To Netflix Outage

Netflix's highly anticipated series “Luke Cage” premiered this weekend, but viewers were more than disappointed to find the streaming service had crashed on Saturday.

For a little over two hours, people couldn't binge-watch the new series ― or anything else, for that matter ― so naturally, they expressed their emotions on Twitter.

But the best responses came from the Twitter accounts for “Jessica Jones” and “Luke Cage” himself.

Nailed it.

Following the outage, Netflix responded on Twitter to let everyone know the server was back up and running.

So for anyone who still needs to binge-watch, get to it.
